Cyclotron
|
R&D infrastructure
Cyclotron facility is a unique provider in Romania for:
- Intense accelerated beams (max.50?A)
- Accelerated ions: protons, deuterons and alpha particles with maximum
energy 13MeV/amu and fast neutrons irradiation with maximum fluxes 1011n/cm2*s
- Energy and Time spectrometers for gamma, X-ray and charged particles
|
Relevant projects:
- "Interdisciplinary research for Romanian radio pharmaceuticals
production used in medical diagnosis and therapy" (National Program
VIASAN)
- "PALS (Positron Annihilation Life time Spectroscopy) application
for semiconductor micro-and nano structured device" (National Program
CERES)
- Development of new methods and technology for interdisciplinary application
at Cyclotron Facility
|
Activities:
There are three main activities developed at Cyclotron:
- Maintenance, exploit and up-grading of Cyclotron accelerator
- IBA (Ion Beam Application) researches for materials characterisation
and radioisotopes production
- University and post university teaching and laboratory
|
Scientific and technical support
- The main mission of the Cyclotron is to offer services and technical
assistance for all beneficiaries utilising Accelerated Ion Beams for
applications
- Structural and elemental analysis using RBS, PIXE and CPA
- Fast neutron irradiation of materials
