Project value: 860 000 RONAbstract: According to the legal norms for the national food safety, physical-chemical and biological analyses are performed on samples of the agricultural products (especially cereals), by accredited laboratories belonging to public authorities or private companies. The quality management system based on the standard SR EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 implemented in these laboratories requires the annual participation to proficiency tests or interlaboratory comparisons (PT/ILC). The project proposes, for the radioactivity analyses of agricultural products, to ellaborate, test and validate experimentally new preparation methods for PT specific samples by 3D printing and the use of radioactive standard solutions containing the radionuclides 134Cs and 137Cs. In Romania, now there are no accredited suppliers to organize PT/ILC for radioactivity measurements, according to the standard SR EN ISO/IEC 17043:2023. A national PT will be organized and all the laboratories from the field will be invited to participate. The results obtained and reported will be analyzed together with the participants, and the conclusions will contribute to achieve more accurate and precise measurements for the benefit of the population. The partners will collaborate for the laboratories staff training, especially young people, by participating to training courses, workshops and national and international conferences.
Objectives: a) Improvement of the international metrological traceability and equivalence for radioactivity measurements performed in Romania for agricultural and processed food products
b) Design, preparation and testing of new radioactive standard samples
c) Training of the laboratory staff involved in the project, including from the national customers (public and private analyses laboratories for the food safety)
d) Organisation of a national Proficiency Test (PT) exercise to fulfil the requirements of the standard SR EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018
e) Dissemination of the project results.
