Abstract: The strategic objective of the project is the development and implementation of a high-performing information system for the efficient management of the scientific research projects which are financed from the state budget. The focus is on the management and monitoring of both the scientific activity and the economic transactions which are conducted in the research projects, throughout their entire lifetime. SIMPROC aims at realizing an objective analysis of the deficiencies currently existing in the project management system, and the provision on this basis of solutions designed to improve the monitoring, management and reporting activities. To implement these solutions, a complex network of Grid resources will be designed, to which all the participants in the projects can be connected within a unique virtual organization. The Grid environment will provide the necessary security, the management of distributed data and applications, and online communication between partners. The objectives of the project aim to: a) the analysis of current management system and the realization of a database regarding the common projects of SIMPROC partners; b) design and realization of a local interactive system for on-line monitoring and reporting of the scientific results and the economic information; c) the realization of the Grid system to centralize the data for the on-line analysis and monitoring of projects: d) the implementation of the information system in the units participating in the project and its experimentation. SIMPROC will decisively contribute to streamline the management of research projects by optimizing the on-line monitoring by the manager and the contracting authority of the achievement of the objectives, reducing the interval for reporting the economic situation, and accelerating the decision-making. The possible extension of the proposed computer system at the national level will lead to a better use of the public funds, to a better use of the workforce, and to the creation of new jobs

2. Design and implementation of a database on the conduct and results of the RD activities in the 2005-2007 period (2008-06-30)
3. Design and implementation of a local system for the on-line interactive reporting of the research results and of the economic situation of project (2008-12-19)
4. The realization of the Grid system to centralize the data for the on-line analysis and monitoring of projects (2009-06-30)
5. The implementation of the information system in the units participating in the project and its experimentation. (2009-12-18)
6. Testing of integrated information system for project management, analysis of the monitoring results and dissemination of the information (2010-06-30)
